Why don't we accept other types of plastic?

Plastics #1-#7 are recyclable. Currently,
most of the industries that use recycled plastic require #1 and #2 plastics to make their products. Unfortunately, that means there is only a small "end market" for the higher numbered plastics. The LCSWMD was hoping to accept more plastics, but our plastic purchaser Rumpke Inc. sustained damage to its plastic sorting facility. This made the acceptance of plastics #3-#7 even more problematic! We at LCSWD are keeping a watch on the recycled plastics market, and we are looking forward to keeping more plastics out of the landfill.
